this year we decided that we would spend our Christmas somewhere away from the British cold, ice and rain. So here we are at The Old Palace Hotel in Hungarda.
We flew in on Tuesday 20th December 2016 on Thomas Cook Airbus 321, a small plane with two side rows off three seats. I am only 5 ft 3 inches and even I was cramped, so how tall people copped, il never know. I would rather pay extra and have less seats on the plane, but that’s just my opinion.
The Hotel is lovely, with a very grand entrance and lobby. Two restaurant’s inside and a pool and beech snack area. The main restaurant inside is a buffet style with every kind of food you can imagine and a outside BBQ area, the other one is a Mexican style restaurant which we haven’t tried yet, but we are booked in on Christmas Day, so that will be different.
The Hotel is directly onto the beach, which is so very clean, with fresh towels and free sun loungers available all the time.
The water is clear Blue and the sand is meticulously clean. Large Ocean ships sail by every day.
Recently there has been a lot of problems and concerns for tourists safety in the Middle East and this has reflected on the people visiting Egypt.
Sharm has remained closed to tourists since 2015 due to terrorist activities and this has reflected on the amount of visitors who are choosing to Holiday here.
So as you can see we had most of the place to ourselves, intact I have never been anywhere with so very few other guests around us. But that made it even more special.
I can honestly say that we have been made extremely welcome by everyone we have come across and have never felt threatened at any time.
I can understand people’s concerns, but life must always go on, and these people can not be allowed to win.
The total cost of the Holiday was approximately £1300 each, for all inclusive 4**** accommodation and staff giving lots of time and attention.
If you have never been to Egypt, take a look at this place and think of it for your next Holiday destination.
Hi everyone, many thanks for popping in.
How is your Christmas shopping going on ?
I have just completed the last of mine online. So much easier than dragging around the shops and saves a massive amount of time as well.
Which is something I never seem to have enough of these days.
I have been searching for a life like Labrador retriever stuffed toy dog for my mum, who adores dogs.
She can’t have a real one anymore as she has Alzheimer’s, but I have got one as realistic as I can and I have got it being delivered to my local Argos store on there click and collect service. What a fantastic idea.
Mum is having to go into a rest home , possible short term, but that will have to be confirmed after a few weeks ( il keep you posted )
So I’m hoping she will love this and it will give her back old memories.
And for my Daughter in law ( who is expecting their first baby) a very fashionable middi grey dress and rose gold choker from ASOS which is being delivered tomorrow 👏
So now I can breath, well as far as gifts go.
Because we are going away for Christmas, I had this amazing idea to bring the Special day forward and have Christmas day on Sunday 18th.
Get all the family and children around to give presents out and have a few drinks together.
This was before I knew mum was going to be in Hospital and then need to go into a rest home for a while.
Also to add fuel to the fire, we invited all our friends round for later when family have gone to finish everything off
Phew no pressure there then
But I’m sure it will all fall into p!ace.
Until then take care
Hello and thanks for dropping by.
This is my very first blog ever. It’s hard to know where to start with my first post.I am sure it will develope as I go along.
So who am i? For those that don’t know me my name is Sandra , I am in my nifty fifty,s and I live with my partner in a lovely small country village in the North of England, close to the coast.
I work as a Before/After School Childminder and I love to resell on eBay. I am a self confessed savvy shopper, who loves a bargain.Cant stay away from the car boots in the Summer and love freebies to test and review .
2016 has been a difficult year for me and my family. My father passed away in the start of the year and my Mum has Alzheimer’s and is about to go into residential care, short term basis for now . But the horrible part of the year is nearly over and next year we have a new baby coming into the family. My eldest sons,s first. So I can practice being a fussy nanna again lol.
Next week we are off to Egypt for ten days of rest and relaxation. I will pop another post on and tell you all about it.
So I will leave this little intro here for now.
Chat again soon
